Maxim Label & Packaging manufactures the tags, tickets, labels, and RFID that carry a product's identity from the factory floor to the Walmart shelf, with plants positioned close to where the product is actually made.
Retailer RFID mandates changed what a hang tag is. It used to be a price and a barcode. Now it is a compliance item that has to be ARC certified, correctly encoded, readable at item level, and applied at the right place on the package. For suppliers with overseas manufacturing, the practical problem is distance: if the tag is produced on one continent and the garment on another, every revision, every failed read, and every mandate update turns into a shipping cycle.
Maxim was founded in 1973 and operates more than twenty production sites across Asia, EMEA, the UK, and the Americas, with innovation centers in China, the US, and Europe and a US operation in High Point, North Carolina. That footprint is the point of the company: production sits near the manufacturing base, which shortens turnarounds on tags, tickets, and labels. In 2024 the company converted close to two billion RFID labels in apparel alone.
Beyond RFID, the portfolio covers hang tags, price tickets, care labels, woven and printed labels, heat transfers, adhesives, and packaging, so a supplier can source the full trim package from one partner rather than coordinating several. The company's EcoTrac offering uses tunnel scanning installed at the manufacturing site to verify box-level accuracy and capture item-level data at the point of production, which supports traceability and the digital product passport and EPR requirements now emerging in European markets.
For a Walmart supplier working through the RFID mandate, or a brand that wants one trim partner across multiple retailers and multiple sourcing countries, Maxim is built around that footprint.
