Description

Rob Cowgur joined Avery Dennison in November 2025 as Vice President and General Manager of the Walmart/Sam's Club business, after twenty-seven years inside the Walmart ecosystem.

He started at Walmart in 1999 as an Assistant Manager in Bentonville and rotated through Co-manager and Store Manager roles in Rogers, Taos, Colorado Springs, and Seabrook before returning to the Home Office as a Buyer in 2006. As Director of Merchandise Planning for Electronics from 2010 to 2012, he managed $18 billion in sales and ran the financial process for the company's Black Friday event, earning a spot in Walmart's Leadership Executive Acceleration Program. As DMM Senior Director of Merchandising for Horticulture from 2012 to 2014, he tested and launched a new watering technology across every Walmart store in the U.S. that saved millions of dollars in labor and millions of gallons of water. As Senior Director of Operations for Meat, Produce, Bakery, and Deli from 2015 to 2017, he held P&L responsibility for the newly created fresh operations division, hired and deployed 150 quality executives, and saved millions of dollars in food waste while improving comp sales.

After Walmart, Rob spent eight years at Advantage Solutions in Northwest Arkansas. As Senior Vice President and then Executive Vice President, he led a team of 6,000 associates and managed the operations of 4,000 Walmart stores, working in close coordination with Walmart merchandise and operations executives. He took organizational execution from 90% to 95%, exceeded budget on sales and EBITDA, and increased points of distribution for the suppliers his team served.

At Avery Dennison, Rob leads the team responsible for the Walmart and Sam's Club RFID program, including the recently announced first-of-its-kind RFID innovation for Meat, Bakery, and Deli.
