Description
Seth Strauser is an Account Manager at CCL Label, working out of Bedford, New Hampshire on the RFID and labeling solutions Checkpoint Systems brings to Walmart suppliers. His seat is the supplier-facing side of the CCL and Checkpoint platform: the integrated label, packaging, and RFID infrastructure that supplier teams need when a Walmart mandate moves into their category. The CCL connection matters here. CCL acquired Checkpoint in 2016 and already produces labels and packaging for most major CPG brands. Seth works at the intersection of those two realities for the supplier accounts he manages.
He brings a credential rare even inside the RFID industry: nearly sixteen years on the Checkpoint product side before he ever sat across from a supplier. From 2000 to 2015 he held progressive product and R&D roles at Checkpoint Systems out of Thorofare, New Jersey, including Global R&D Project Manager, Director of Global Product Management for Consumables and Reusables, and Senior Director of Global Product Management for EAS Consumables, Reusables and Recyclables and RFID Reusables. In that senior role he managed a global EAS and RFID product line of more than 1,200 SKUs, owned the global product development roadmap for EAS and RFID consumables, ran global compliance programs for that line of business, and sat on the global manufacturing council. He helped build the product portfolio that now sits behind Checkpoint's Walmart RFID work.
After Checkpoint, Seth spent ten months as Chief Innovation Officer at New Digital Vision Labs, responsible for global product management, R&D, manufacturing and logistics, and then nearly seven years at Stanley Black & Decker in Farmington, Connecticut. His Stanley Black & Decker tenure tracked the same arc retail and CPG have been on: Director of Product Management starting in 2016, Director of Digital Transformation and Commercialization in 2018, and Senior Director of Digital and Hardware Solutions from 2019 through 2023. He built and commercialized SaaS and connected hardware programs inside one of Walmart's largest tools and hardware suppliers, which means he has been the supplier-side counterpart to the Checkpoint conversation he now leads.
For a Walmart supplier weighing how to integrate RFID into existing packaging, where to push back on a tag spec that does not fit a SKU, or how to align label, packaging, and RFID with a single accountable partner, Seth is the right call. He has built the product line, he has been the supplier rolling out new technology against retailer requirements, and he now sits at CCL Label working the Checkpoint platform end of that same problem. Suppliers who want a partner who has lived all three sides of the conversation should ask for him.
