Walmart Data Ventures said in its February announcement that the platform sets a new standard for retail execution, so customers can always trust Walmart has the products they need, across every channel and shopping experience. That standard has a supplier-side implication the platform itself cannot fulfill.
A field representative with access to Scintilla In-Store data can identify a void, confirm a planogram is out of compliance, or flag a shelf that needs replenishment. What happens next is not a technology question. It is an organizational one. Does the rep have a structured workflow that tells them what to do with what they found? For many supplier field teams, the answer to at least one of those questions is no. The workflows governing store visits were built for a different tempo.
